ABOUT Edward

Edward Bluth has been interested in art for many years, but recently became more focused when he became a member of the Mid-City Art Studios.  As a radiologist, specializing in diagnostic ultrasound, he always appreciated the beauty of images and the complexity of color especially when working with color flow Doppler imaging.  He now incorporates in his paintings these influences from his long successful medical career.  Over the last few years, he has focused his attention on societal influences affecting the world.  Currently, in his art, he uses patterns, color interactions and subtleties of geometric design as surrogates for the complexity of life and the social attitudes and problems affecting the human condition.

Education:

Edward graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a special distinction in history. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, completed his internship at the Medical College of Virginia, and his residency at the Hospital of Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and has been on the staff since 1977.

Awards & Nominations:

In September 2020, Edward was recognized by the Creative Alliance of New Orleans as its monthly Artist In View (See www.cano-la.org/aiovg_videos/ed-bluth/)
